Description Level II - Performs mid-level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects - Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled - Ability to determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility - Independently and safely performs mid-sheath cable entry using proper tools - Performs mid-level single and/or ribbon splices with the understanding large cable count numbering - Ability to read/process test results and problem solve basic issues identified during troubleshooting - Proficient in mid-level OTDR and power meter testing - Ability to install and/or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures - Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization - Effectively communicates with internal (training peers) and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, etc.), addressing issues as they arise and offering customer-centric solutions - Responds timely to critical situations and emergency outages with an appropriate level of urgency - Maintains full understanding of safety risks while working in a safety sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards - Performs other duties as assigned by leadership Level III - Performs complex splicing projects for both new and existing customers with little to no direction - Independently troubleshoots customer networks and reads/processes test results to provide customer deliverables - Creates Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progress - Independently reads/interprets prints and create work assignments for other Technicians - Accurately collects all pertinent information from pre-job inspections and customer field meetings - Supports operational leadership with the management of on-site project elements such as time, materials, documentation, production updates, tool, and equipment - Professionally interacts with and communicate with external vendors, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership to ensure accurate information is disseminated to all parties - Proactively identifies and escalates project and personnel issues to operational leadership where appropriate - Creates training plans and conduct training for other Technicians and serve as a leader in the field driving quality, efficiency, production, and safety - Serves as an ADB Culture Champion leading, driving, and participating in ADB culture pillar events - Utilizes expert-level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across ADB's Splicing group - Possesses advanced understanding of all safety risks while working in a safety sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards - Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Skills Fiber optic cable, Fiber splicing, Fiber optic, Cable, Data center, Install Top Skills Details Fiber optic cable,Fiber splicing,Fiber optic,Cable Additional Skills & Qualifications - Strong experienced fiber ribbon splicers and testers, mass fusion splicers in a data center setting - Each building has 154 6912 cables, we prep, splice, and test 6912s on OSEs at both ends (in separate data halls) - We splice the 6912s to pre terminated to blunt pigtails that are installed by others - Safety centric mindset is a must - Ability to travel / work long hours Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $40.00/hr.
