Job Description

Salary: $180,000 - 225,000 per year Requirements:

  • A technical school diploma (Military/Trade School) or an Associate degree with at least one year of experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical operations.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with computer components and operating systems.
  • At least one year of experience with mission-critical low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in a Data Center or mission-critical environment.
  • Preferred: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher from the International Society of Automation (ISA).
  • Preferred: Basic understanding of network design, layout, and low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
Responsibilities:
  • Primarily support multiple Data Centers by deploying, servicing, and upgrading Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
  • Mentor and train Facilities team members on the operation and control of BMS and EPMS systems.
  • Audit, maintain, and manage computer enterprise asset management systems for BMS and EPMS installations.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects and programs.
  • Conduct point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
  • Perform first-line diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of programming code and hardware related to BMS and EPMS in data centers.
  • Carry out the provisioning process for servers, controllers, industrial PCs, and network configurations, as well as communication testing between third-party devices and controllers or servers.
  • Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel drawings; possess a basic understanding of closed-loop controls, field sensors scaling, and typical functions performed by industrial controllers.
  • Supervise low-voltage electrical contractors carrying out wiring and installation of field devices per AWS requirements.
  • Provide commissioning and systems-level testing support.
  • Create red-lined drawings and system documentation.
  • Follow change management processes to generate work requests and methods of procedures.
  • Participate in factory witnessed tests with vendors or in panel builder facilities.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
  • Recommend design enhancements based on user consultations and system operations.
  • Conduct root cause analyses during testing and commissioning.
  • Ensure that all onsite personnel adhere to proper safety methodologies.
  • Be available for on-call duties and a rotating schedule, responding to after-hours emergencies as necessary.
  • Execute service activities such as monitoring and reviewing ticketing systems, performing root cause analysis, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Actively manage service agreements, including vendor labor scheduling, quality assurance, and financial invoice review.
