Job Summary
Football Sports Nutrition Student Assistant
Purdue Sports Nutrition supports the daily needs of the student-athletes, the department is seeking dependable, determined, initiative-oriented students to help carry out the Sports Nutrition Mission of providing high performance nutrition strategies that keep boilermaker student-athletes in the game and to ensure the best possible outcomes both on the field of competition and in life beyond athletics
Major Responsibilities
Practice and training session support: making shakes, assist in fueling and recovery of the football student-athletes
Stocking and taking inventory
Shipment receiving
Food service, catering assistance
Provide hydration and fueling during practice
Travel packing and unpacking
Game day field and locker room setup
Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Must be a current Purdue student, nutrition majors preferred, enrolling in NUTR 245/345 highly preferred
Good time management skills
Attention to detail
Ability to perform manual labor which may include lifting, carrying and long periods of standing and/or walking
High level of professionalism as a representative of Purdue Athletics
Maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and other athletic department staff, including student-athletes and coaches
Must be able to work independently and perform at a high level within a group
Must be able to take initiative and anticipate needs of the student-athletes and coaches
Students must follow all HIPAA, FERPA, NCAA, and Purdue University rules and regulations.
Availability and Time Commitment
Ideally have some summer availability to support team workouts
Students must be available for training camp: tentatively July 30 – August 30
In-season – available for most practices during the week (3) and 1 weekend day, either game day or recovery day
