Functional Life Skills or Composite Room Teacher 

Jefferson Village School, AOS 93

School year: 2025-2026

JVS has an immediate opening for a dynamic special education teacher at Jefferson Village School in our K-8 functional life skills or composite program. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in inclusive programming, positive behavior plans, executive functioning skills, and working with students with multiple disabilities levels of need.
• Flexibility is necessary to program for students with cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Ability to collect and utilize academic and behavioral data to drive instruction and daily living skills curriculum
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with educational technicians
• Current Safety Care Authorization (or can be trained by the district)
• Current Maine Gr. K-8 Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification (282)
• Maine Criminal History Records Check required

Jefferson Village School is a K-8 community school located on the north shores of Damariscotta Lake. We are 30 minutes from Augusta, Rockland, and the Pemaquid Region.  JVS has a strong community of support and a very professional, committed staff that maintains high expectations for our community of learners.  

Salary based on Collective Bargaining Agreement
