Job Description

The Hop Ice Cream is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our team at the iconic S&W Market in the heart of downtown Asheville. This part-time position is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging with people, working in a fast-paced environment, and being part of a small team serving handcrafted ice cream with heart.

Weekend availability is a priority!

Pay: lowest amount of credit card tips included in pay but can be an additional $10 per hour + cash tips. We offer a very flexible schedule, great working environment, and of course, free ice cream! :)

Responsibilities:

• Provide warm, welcoming, and efficient customer service
• Scoop and serve ice cream and other menu items accurately and enthusiastically
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace
• Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash and card transactions
• Restock supplies and keep display freezer neat and presentable
• Open and/or close the shop, often working independently
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and management

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older to work at this location
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 20 lbs and physically scoop ice cream throughout shifts
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Comfortable working solo or as part of a small team
• Open-minded, respectful, and inclusive; must be able to work respectfully with a diverse team and serve a diverse customer base
• Previous food service or customer service experience is a plus, but not required!
