Job Summary:

The Beaver Creek Resort Children’s Ski and Snowboard School Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest and employee experience while ensuring the financial success of the location and contributing to departmental goals. This is achieved through a focus on guest service, community engagement, employee development, operational efficiency, and innovation. The Manager oversees the Children’s Rental Shop and support staff.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $58,461.98 - $77,427.41+ annual bonus
  • Employment Type: Year Round (10-month)
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct and monitor the quality of products and staff, including instructors, supervisors, support staff, and the children’s rental shop, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, alignment with resort and company goals, financial success, and professional growth.
  • Model and support Vail Resorts’ mission, vision, and core values.
  • Collaborate with the Skier Services Senior Director, Senior Managers and all Ski and Snowboard School leadership to provide tools, training, and tactics that ensure product and service quality and financial accountability.
  • Drive talent development by offering feedback, development opportunities, and training for supervisors, product managers and instructors. Role model exceptional service, and resolve guest and employee concerns.
  • Use feedback from Net Promoter Scores, Guest Satisfaction Surveys, and Employee Engagement Surveys to drive program improvements. Ensure recognition programs are utilized regularly, including regular cadence of On the Spot Nominations from leadership team.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the location to ensure accountability of labor margins, class ratios, return business and overall success of the school.
  • Help create and implement training plans and monitor training quality for all ski school functions. Work with the Training Product Manager to enhance training for support staff, instructors, and management.
  • Lead and support safety programs, including compliance with seasonal goals of On Snow Observations are met, stay current on health and safety regulations, and track workers’ compensation incidents and claims.
  • Know and model the school teaching system and guest service guidelines; lead clinics and teach when necessary. Stay informed about industry trends and maintain involvement with professional organizations (PSIA/AASI).
  • Maintain strong relationships with private clubs to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality and appearance of facilities, including buildings, sales areas, on-mountain facilities, terrain-based learning areas, signage, program imaging, teaching terrain, and locker rooms.
  • Maintain a global perspective for managing and improving the location. Work closely with the Senior Manager to make operational adjustments and contribute to innovations for the entire school.

Job Requirements :

  • High School Diploma.
  • Ski and Snowboard School Supervisory experience: 1-3 years required
  • Minimum of three years as a full-time instructor for a recognized ski/snowboard school.
  • Have current professional instructor certification. PSIA/AASI Level 3 is strongly recommended.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Verbal communication in person and via telephone with guests, instructors, and management is required.
  • Knowledge of RPOS, Guest Connect, and Proconnect preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

The expected pay range is $58,461.98 - $77,427.41+ annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
