Compensation & Benefits: $18.00 - $22.00/hr

Role Overview

The Processing Assistant provides critical administrative and technical support to the loan processing team. This role is responsible for the initial setup of loan files, gathering necessary documentation, and ensuring all information is accurate and organized. The assistant will be a key point of contact for clients, loan officers, and third-party vendors, helping to maintain a smooth and efficient loan process from start to finish. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Essential Duties

  • Manage loan file setup by organizing and preparing new loan files in the company's loan origination system.
  • Review and audit loan applications to ensure all required information and documentation is present and accurate.
  • Communicate with loan officers, borrowers, and third-party vendors to collect and track necessary documentation.
  • Order third-party services, such as appraisals, title reports, and verifications of employment.
  • Maintain loan files and update the system with all new documentation and information.
  • Assist processors with tasks as needed to ensure loans move through the pipeline efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is performed within company-defined guidelines and standards.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures, as you will have access to confidential financial data.
  • Provide clear and timely updates on loan status to all relevant parties.
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with loan origination software and a strong command of Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during the loan process.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A strong customer-service orientation and a pleasant, reliable, and responsible approach.
  • Industry Knowledge: An understanding of the basic mortgage process and terminology is preferred.
