Buba Bureka is a breakfast-lunch takeout counter opening up in the heart of Greenwich Village. We’re focused on serving the perfect bureka, a savory Mediterranean pastry served with briny pickles, crushed tomato, and a perfectly jammy egg. An ideal candidate for this position is gregarious, fun, and has had some back of house experience. Even just a little!

Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming environment.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
• Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods with precision and accountability.
• Resolve customer concerns and questions promptly, escalating issues as needed.
• Restock grab-and-go items and ensure the counter remains clean and organized.
• Assist with other operational tasks as directed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy times.
• Support the overall cleanliness and tidiness of the front-of-house area.

Skills and Requirements:

• Food Handlers Certificate, or willingness to obtain it
• Knowledge of standard best practices for DOH compliance.
• Strong aptitude for solving problems effectively.
• Skilled at managing multiple, concurrent tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of maintaining composure in a high-energy, dynamic environment.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Comfortable standing and remaining active throughout the duration of a shift.
• Physically able to lift 50+ lbs during a shift as needed.
