SENIOR ACCOUNTING OFFICER (SPECIALIST) – ACCOUNTING SERVICES SECTION / ACCOUNTS PAYABLE / SACRAMENTO HQ

The reporting location for this position is at 715 P Street, Sacramento, CA.  This position will work under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I, Supervisor.

This position plays a vital role in performing complex accounting tasks under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor). The Senior Accounting Officer is primarily responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and approving all Accounts Payable vouchers related to P-Card transactions, utilities, and settlements. Additionally, this role ensures compliance with reporting requirements, including Use Tax and 1099 reportable payments.

The incumbent will also assist the unit supervisor with various accounting projects and initiatives. This position requires ongoing communication and collaboration with accounting staff at all levels, as well as Budget and Bonds personnel and Field staff.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered.
