Job Summary:

The Service Manager/Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing daily operations within a service-oriented environment. This position involves managing a team of service technicians and ensuring efficient scheduling and dispatching of service calls to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Work hours:

  • Full Time: Minimum of 40 hours/week Monday-Friday
    • 7:45am-5:00pm
  • Field incoming calls from customers regarding service needs and scheduling them with the necessary technicians using a dispatching software.
  • The Service Manager/Dispatcher will also serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely follow-up to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Tracking the progress of service calls and maintaining accurate records.
  • Fielding technical calls from technicians in the field of Electrical
  • Monitoring service requests and ensuring they are completed to the customers specifications, in the expected quality and time frame
  • Prioritizing and assigning jobs to technicians based on skill level and location and work order type
  • Creating Work orders and issuing PO’s for the Service department
  • Ensuring all apprentices and Journeyman electricians have their week ahead scheduled to minimize down time.
  • Assisting in take offs and bids as needed
  • Track and maintain lift rentals, permits and locates.
  • Work closely with the billing department to ensure work orders get billed correctly and closed in a timely manner.
  • This position may require site visits to ensure project quality and progress

Key Responsibilities:

In addition, this role requires collaboration with management to identify areas for improvement, optimize service operations, and implement best practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in service delivery while fostering a positive work environment for the team.

Requirements :

  • Electrical Journeyman license preferred
  • Strong Written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft office tools such as Excel
  • Strong computer skills and experience working in a service dispatch enterprise resource solution.
  • Proven experience in service management or dispatching, preferably in a related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in scheduling software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
