A global food distributor is looking for a Transportation Director to lead a high-performing team, champion safety, and deliver best-in-class service to our customers. You’ll oversee daily transportation operations, inspire and develop your drivers, and ensure every delivery is on time, safe, and cost-effective. What You’ll Do:
Lead and inspire a diverse transportation team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Champion safety-first operations , ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies while driving proactive accident prevention measures.
Build and develop talent by hiring, training, and coaching drivers and staff to consistently exceed service, safety, and performance goals.
Troubleshoot and optimize delivery operations, reducing waste, streamlining processes, and improving on-time performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to align transportation priorities with overall business goals.
What You’ll Bring:
Proven track record with 3+ years in transportation, delivery, or warehouse distribution, and at least 1+ years in people leadership (union preferred).
Strong leadership and communication skills , with a history of motivating teams and influencing positive operational change.
In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation methods, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and operational data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Tech proficiency , including Microsoft Office and transportation planning tools, with a willingness to adopt new systems quickly.
